Australia Investment Migration is one of the most well-known ways for the Chinese people to immigrate to Australia, including two common routes, namely, subclass 188 and subclass 132, which apply to different applicants.
1. Subclass 188A——for SME owners
Subclass 188A visa belongs to Business Innovation stream for domestic SME owners and business senior management.
Attractive features: When the visa is granted, family members can apply for and obtain PR visas as well; no minimum English language and educational requirements; a 4-year temporary visa，you can apply for permanent residence after 2 years.
2. Subclass 188B——For people experienced in management and investment
For people with experience in investment management who want to immigrate to Australia through investment instead of starting a business in Australia.
Attractive features：When the visa is granted, family members can apply for and obtain PR visas as well; no minimum English language and educational requirements；a 4-year temporary visa，you can apply for permanent residence after 4 years.
3. Subclass 188C——for people with net assets of at least AUD 5 million
Subclass 188C provisional visa is granted by the Australian government to applicants who can invest capital into great projects within Australia and make great contribution to Australia. For grant of the visa, applicants (including people with capital and high-income) must make an investment of at least AUD 5 million in a complying investment.
For applicants with at least AUD 5 million
Attractive features：When the visa is granted, family members can apply for and obtain PR visas as well；no minimum English language and educational requirements；no age limits；no points test；less strict on capital sources; short visa application duration.
4. Subclass 132——For relatively big company owners
The Business Talent visa (subclass 132) is a permanent residence visa for business people who are nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency, which enjoys great popularity among investors. But it requires the applicants to have net business and personal assets of at least AUD1.5 million and an annual business turnover of at least AUD3 million.
For large business owners or shareholders or venture capitalists with successful business backgrounds.
Attractive features：When the visa is granted, family members can apply for and obtain PR visas as well；no minimum English language and educational requirements；of all investment immigration visas, it’s the only one that grants a direct 5-year permanent residence visa.
Besides, Australia migration also includes Employer Sponsored migration and Skilled Migration.
Australian Employer Sponsored
It contains three subclasses, namely, subclass 457 which allows the visa holder to apply for Employer Sponsored permanent residence visa after working in Australia for 2 years and subclass 186 and subclass 187, which enable the visa holder to obtain PR visa directly.
The Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457) allows skilled workers to come to Australia and work for an approved business for up to four years. You must be sponsored and nominated by an approved business. A business can sponsor someone for this visa. The visa holder can apply for PR visa sponsored by employers after working for 2 years. (subclass 186 and 187).
The Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186) is for skilled workers who want to work in Australia. This visa involves a two-step process, firstly, nomination by an approved Australian employer and then an application under the nominated stream. It is part of the Permanent Employer Sponsored Visa programme.
The visa has three streams:
（1）The Temporary Residence Transition stream is for subclass 457 visa holders who have worked for two years, while holding a subclass 457 visa, in the same occupation with their nominating employer (who is not subject to a labor agreement and who has lodged a valid nomination with us under the Temporary Residence Transition stream), who wants to offer them a permanent position in that occupation.
（2）The Direct Entry stream is for people who have never, or only briefly, worked in Australia, or temporary residents who do not qualify for the Temporary Residence Transition stream.
（3）The Agreement stream is for subclass 457 visa holders sponsored by an employer through a labor agreement.
Australian Skilled Migration
It’s divided into subclass 189, subclass 190, subclass 489 and subclass 476.
（1）Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) is for points-tested skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state or territory government. It allows you and any family members who have also been granted this visa to live, work and study in Australia and enroll in Medicare,Australia's scheme for health-related care and expense as permanent residents. And you can apply for Australian citizenship (if you are eligible).
（2）The Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) is a permanent residence visa for points-test skilled workers who want to work and live in Australia after being nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency or sponsored by relatives.
（3）This visa allows skilled workers to live and work in specified regional areas in Australia for up to three years. It’s for skilled workers who want to come to Australia through Skilled Migration but do not meet the requirements of the Skilled-Independent visa (subclass 189) or the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190).
（4）The Skilled — Recognised Graduate visa (subclass 476) , presented by Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection in September 1, 2007, aims to attract recent engineering graduates of recognised institutions around the world.
